I have several decades of experience in the art of figuring out what doesn’t work. Far more than 10,000 hours.

It’s actually most of what I do: things that don’t work.

Scattered among that vast breadth of experience, I have a TINY bit of experience in things that DO work. You don’t actually need much experience of this variety to make millions of dollars.

Unfortunately, it seems that many of us have to sift and sort through an enormous amount of “things that don’t work” experience to get the tiny bit of experience in “things that do work.”

If you’re not expecting this, it can easily make you think you suck and aren’t cut out for business.

That is not true.

The funny part is that, even when you’re flying high and running a business generating millions of dollars, a huge amount of time is still spent getting even more experience in “things that don’t work.”

If you think this is a problem, you suffer. If you accept this as normal, you don’t suffer.

Either way you will grow. But it’s up to you whether you perceive that growth process as something that is painful or something that simply is part of the game.

If you only want to do things that work, you’re going to spend most of your time doing nothing. You won’t learn, you won’t grow, you’ll just wait. And you’ll be doing that same waiting next year, and the next.

School taught you there is right and wrong, good and bad. That you should avoid one and move towards the other.

School was training slaves. They lied to you to prepare you for a life of building someone else’s dream.

When you go out to build your own, you discover the truth. Life is a mess. Business is a mess. If you can build your capacity to receive it ALL, you can travel pretty much anywhere you want to go.
